| In anticipation of my build in the beginning of next year I've come across a few stumbling blocks. By my rough estimates, it will cost me around $35-50k to build the engine MY WAY. (my way = everything brand new or aftermarket: transmission, drive-train, harnesses, clutch and brake boosters, cables, hoses, etc. etc. etc.) I am purchasing a new home in March and money will be tight. Now before anyone says not to go through with the build until I can fully afford it, that's not an alternative. Something is getting done to the Z engine-wise next year whether I like it or not. So.... here is what I am considering. 1. Source a used 1995 TT engine with low miles and do basic bolt-on's for the time being. 2. My clutch is currently shot in the N/A. Replace with aftermarket clutch (or TT clutch as I have a new one laying around), lightweight flywheel, and while im in there, do the headers and get an aftermarket ECU and wait a year or so for the full build. 3. Get a '95 tt engine and rebuild it as simply as possible. But with this scenario I look at it as rather pointless for the simple fact that I will end up rebuilding this in the future anyways. Another question for you guys, where can I source a 95 motor? I dont want a front clip from Japan because there is limited info on the mileage, the year it came out of, etc. etc.
What would you do if you were trudging along in my galoshes?
